People with fair skin are at a higher risk of developing skin cancer. For this reason, children with albinism are at a much greater risk than others in their communities. Skin cancer can be prevented through the use of sunscreen, hats, and long sleeves, but children in Mozambique often lack access to these supplies. Sunscreen, in particular, can be very costly (a bottle costs around $10). Donations to our programs allow us to provide sunscreen to children (and some adults) with albinism in the Vilankulo community.

We love getting sunscreen from visiting tourists at the end of their trips, but we often need to buy from the local shops to meet the demand.

Your donation of sunscreen, or funds to buy sunscreen locally, goes a long way to help these kids!
